WHEN: This ride will be on Saturday November 13th, in honor of Veterans day. Plan to be at the Staging area NLT 9:30 as it is quite a way from Phoenix.
The ride will be approximately 85 miles. It will be a loop with a cut off on the way back on 9 miles to Del Shey’s cabin, time permitting. This will be a all day ride.

DIRECTION TO STAGING: We will stage just north of Jakes Corner General Store and RV Park on SR 188. Take SR 87 to the turn off to SR 188 about 46 miles from intersection of Shea and SR 87 at Fountain Hills. There is a open area about 1/2 mile north of Jakes Corner on FS 184 (just across the street from JC)
( N 34 00 53.39 W 111 18 57.63). We will have a brief safety talk before the ride.

RIDE DISCRIPTION: From the staging area we will pass through the Seventy Six Ranch, up into the mountains and eventually visiting Fred Praty’s cabin and mine. From there to the Flying W Ranch for a visit. Soldiers Camp and old Wilbanks cabin on the way to the trun off to the remote Del Shays Cabin (given time) We will then return to Jakes Corner.

MISCELLANEOUS: Plan to bring a lunch, snacks and something to drink. The only Fuel is at Jakes Crossing so plan ahead and be prepared. I have not made this trip for sometime expect some trail surprises. I do recall the the trip up the mountain from the ranch is rocky.
We will be near Young and Payson AZ. The weather in the area is expected to be a high of 72 and Sunny.
There is a lot of history that goes with the places we will visit, I will hopefully be prepared to discuss that at each location.
