For you GAIA users, if you want to make sure if the roads you want to travel are legally open, I found there is a GAIAgps map layer that will help. It is called the MVUM (Forest Service) map layer and will work on the Kaibab, Prescott, Coconino, and Coronado National forests. It doesn’t cover Apache-Sitgreaves or the Tonto NF at this time. This is a good map to consult when planning a route. If you use your mouse and click on a road it provides you with a lot of data. If you can’t find the map go to the map icon (on the left) and go to the bottom and select “+ Add Map Layers” and (at the top) you can search the data base.
